I do recommend that you treat your willow sculpture at least once a year with a clear wood preservative. Alternatively you can use a 50/50 mix of boiled linseed oil (available on amazon) & turpentine. This makes it thinner so it can be sprayed on making it easier to apply & has better coverage.
